Fast, effective, minimally invasive, gum restoration with the Pinhole® Surgical Technique (PST) method is a painless technique for regenerating missing gum tissues. With the pinhole gum restoration method, a small entry point is made in the gumline above the tooth and the gum tissue then repositioned to cover the exposed tooth root.
Pinhole gum restoration provides a solution for receding gums without cutting, grafting and stitching. We can restore your receding gumline in one session, or you may opt to have one arch or a quadrant restored at a time. Treatment is done using local anesthetic and the treatment time is usually only one to two hours. Patients report minimal post treatment discomfort which can often be relieved with Advil® and Tylenol®. (take a few Tylenol® for post treatment discomfort.-change)
Benefits of Pinhole® Surgical Technique (PST):

- Faster recovery for the patient than traditional grafting
- No need for uncomfortable sutures
- No need for scalpels or invasive surgical tools
- No need to take donor tissue from the patient’s palate
- Excellent, natural-looking, long-lasting results
Gum Restoration Procedure
The affected teeth are cleaned and prepared and the gum tissue is numbed with a local anesthetic. A small entry point (0.1 inch) is made in the gum above the tooth or teeth to be treated.
A special dental instrument is inserted into the gum tissue above the gumline to be corrected. The gum tissue is gently move into the proper position. Small collagen strips then are added via the entry point, under the gumline, to help to stabilize the gums.
Pinhole gum restoration allows up to 14 teeth to be treated in one to two hours. There is little to no post-operative discomfort.
Gum recession weakens teeth, causes tooth sensitivity, root damage and leads to the loss of teeth. You can restore a youthful smile and dental health.
